Official Order of Finish of the 2005 Kentucky Derby
1st - Giacomo
2nd - Closing Argument
3rd - Afleet Alex
4th - Don't Get Mad
5th - Buzzards Bay
With nearly 9,000 horseplayers taking the Challenge, this years' competition was our biggest ever, however there was a most unusual twist.
Barney Sherman of Canada won the contest with a whopping 670 total points, and to prove the point that has held true in the past - picking the winner is not the key to winning!
Sherman's Championship Final Four Stable included...
- CLOSING ARGUMENT 60-1
- BUZZARDS BAY 125-1
- AFLEET ALEX 25-1
- Bellamy Road 25-1
Unfortunately, while Mr. Sherman won the contest, he was ineligible for winning prizes (as were two other players due to the requirement for provided a valid email address and physical address).
Hence, below is the list of prize winners and points earned, followed by the instructions on claiming prizes for the Beat The Track Experts competition, and finally the details of the competition, along with Points & Prize Distribution. All winners will be emailed notification and will be required to confirm receipt and provide postal address, if applicable to the prize won.
Per the rules, a valid email address is required to participate in the competition, and therefore if a winner has disabled, provided a false or inaccurate email address, or has blocked receipt of emails from Let It Ride.com, it will be incumbent upon them to notify us at ballys@letitride.com.
All prizes must be claimed no later than 11:59 PM Pacific on May 23, 2005.
RESULTS WILL BECOME OFFICIAL MAY 17, 2005
Points were carefully tabulated. However, you may login above to review your selections. If you have any questions or feel there was an error in calculations you may send a detail (including name and specifics of inquiry) to ballys@letitride.com. All dispute claims must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM Pacific on May 16, 2005. Once the result deemed official they are FINAL!
A final note...all players who registered for this contest are now registered for futured Let It Ride.com/Bally's competitions.
Thanks again and remember the 2005 Bally's/Paris Breeders' Cup Challenge kicks-off in August!

The Challenge is fun, easy, and a test of each Player's Future Book handicapping skills, and best of all it's FREE!.
Between January 27 and April 27, Players build a "fantasy" Kentucky Derby stable of up to 17 runners based on "locking in" odds from the Kentucky Derby Book posted weekly by Bally's Las Vegas. Between April 28 and May 3, Players must then reduce his or her stable to four horses from the available pool in his or her Kentucky Derby stable and that becomes that Players "Final Four" stable for the 2005 Bally's/Paris Kentucky Derby Future Book Challenge.
Points are awarded by using a multiplier for each place of finish of each horse at the odds locked-in at the time of submission (ie: 10x for 1st, 7x for 2nd, and so on as outlined in the rules). The Player who amasses the most total points with his or her Final Four finishes in the 2005 Kentucky Derby, wins the Challenge.
In addition to invitations for two and accommodations for the 2005 Breeders' Cup Party at Bally's in Las Vegas, prizes include; trophy plaques, branded merchandise, valuable handicapping subscriptions, signed memorabilia and more!

COMPETITION RULES AND HOW TO PLAY
1. OVERVIEW: Between January 27 and April 27, Players build a "fantasy" Kentucky Derby stable of up to 17 runners based on selecting one horse in each of the first nine weeks and two horses the final four weeks of the competition and "locking in" odds from the Kentucky Derby Future Book posted weekly by Bally's Las Vegas. Players may enter at anytime until selections close, however as each week passes, Players will lose the opportunity to select two horses.
(Example: If a Player missed the first three weeks, that Player's total pool may only be 14 horses, conversely if he or she entered April 14, their total pool would be four horses.)
All selections close at 6:00 PM (Pacific) April 27, 2005.
